When asked about his past, Geis claims that he knew not of his parents but only of the druid that raised him in High Forest. When Geis was a baby, a dire bear attacked his parents who were found damaging the forest. Geis's parents threw him to the bear as a sacrifice to save their own lives, fortunately this bear was actually a Druid.

He would teach him much about druids, nature, the balance, and of his lady 'Mielikki'; in time Geis grew comfortable with his way of life and eventually followed in his foster fathers foot steps. When he had finally matured he chose to leave the forest and travel across the lands learning more about nature and of the druids.
During his travels he spent much time with a small tribe of barbarians, afflicted with lycanthropy but in time he taught them much about shapechanging and controlling their bodies, in return they taught him much about the nomadic life and of the barbarian ways. But when returning from a hunt, lycanthrope-hating paladins and clerics wiped out the whole tribe while he was away and he returned to a piles of charred corpses. He grieved and buried his friends hoping that nature would finally allow them to rest peacefully.
