Summary: Born in the forest of Tiramar, Elystriana was born to parents in the clergy of the nature diety, Rillifane Rallathil. She felt her calling as a young child when she could hear and feel the forest as it spoke to her. She knew she was destined to protect it. Following the more militant route for Rillifane, she became a ranger. She was quick in learning granting her a place in the ranger band, The Bladed Branch which was part of the Order of the Oakstaff.

Upon entering Tiramar Forest, any man or beast who entered and attempted to harm the forest, a quick death would usually ensue. Those who escaped claimed to have heard a sort of 'whisper in the woods' as if the trees themselves where calling for help. The young elven ranger was nicknamed 'Whisper in the Woods' or simply, 'Whisper'. Afterwards, Elystriana adopted the surname Whisperwood. Not long after she found a wolf cub in the woods that she would raise from its infancy and named him Murmur. Whisper and Murmur became fierce defenders of Tiramar.

On the outskirts of the forest was an old abandoned village that was once known as Braelene. Braelene had been a nice sized village that had a bitter fued with its distant neighbor Druenhoff. The rivalry led to a brutal war between the two towns leaving Braelene in ruins and eventually a large graveyard. Years later some unknown events led to the dead rising from the ashes of Braelene, and it wasn't long before the dead lingered into Tiramar Forest.

The forest cried out in agony as the undead's blight ravaged the beautiful woods. Whisper, The Bladed Branch and the rest of the Order of the Oakstaff fought day and night against the taint of the dead. Days turned to weeks as Whisper and her band drove out the dead while the clerics cleansed and purged the woods of the filth.

Months later, the forest had been purged and peace was restored to Tiramar. And for the first time in her life, she felt it was her time to move on. Rillifane's presence was all over Faerun, and she felt it was time to protect others as she had spent her life doing here. With a peace in her heart, she left her homeland and headed northwest towards Icewind Dale. On her way there, she heard of a city nestled in what was described as a bountiful valley with lush forests of beauty. Shortly thereafter, Whisper set foot on the land of Sundren.
