How To

First time

When you first log into Sundren, after creating your character, you will be on a ship. This is a small cut-scene of how you have come to be in Sundren. When landed you will be given three levels to start yourself off with and basic equipment; potions, weapon and even a 'Travellers Guide to Sundren' which we suggest you read if you are new to Sundren.

Places and people

The starting place for Sundren is the flourishing Port Avaynthar. Here are many places to visit and explore with several people to talk to who tell you small bits about Sundren. As you explore further past the port into other areas, be aware, out of the cities and towns the is always danger. There are several places were the main amount of players reside and so if you enjoy the roleplaying experience try firstly the Exigo Trading Post. This place has everything you need - people to talk with, other players, different shops to trade in all kinds of wares and is one of the main focus points of Sundren's economy.

Leveling

Sundren is a place of many different people and as you pass through the game you will notice that people and enemies have different challenge ratings to you and some more difficult then others to fight.

CR (Challenge rating)
Effortless-White (Four or more levels below your own)
Easy-Green (A couple of levels below your own)
Challenging-Yellow (You level or around there)
Very Difficult-Orange (Usually one to three levels above your own)
Overpowering-Red (Three or possibly more levels above your own)
Impossible-Purple (Four/Five levels above your own)

Level 5 is the threshold in which the resting system comes in place were you can only rest every 10 minutes unless in a resting area and is also your maximum level for the first time of playing the game. Over time your maximum level increases so don't think it is always like that. The next main threshold is level 11 in which the other death rules come in - [[Gameplay Mechanics|See here]. Finally you will reach level 15 after enough time playing and roleplaying. At this point you can get no more XP from kills but only from roleplaying experience and DM experience.
