History:
Sol's origins are rather clouded and undisclosed, even to herself. Perhaps with time the remnants of her memories will float to the surface. For now, it is only forward... a new life!
Her earliest recollection was that she once had a family, although their faces she can no longer recognize in her dreams. Her only memory of them is being left behind, abandoned, and sealed away---a dark tunnel with a bright light at the end, slowly being locked into darkness. She expresses her immense loneliness and confusion during this time, but is unsure even as to why she was discarded by them or the exact meaning of it.
Upon examing the golem Divinium, she became mildly focused on learning everything she could about them and their creation. Following the few signs she had before her, she made her way to the Exigo to learn about their machines. Learning little, she garnered what little will she had left and carried on, eventually meeting Mizrahi, who complimented and scolded her seemingly uncanny ability to reveal repressed programming in his golem's artificial intelligence. Kharhaz had also come to meet Sol at a time, in company of Mizrahi, and encouraged Sol to follow the path she was destined for.
Difficult training proceeded for many months, under her own wit and guile, learning the ways of the arcane on her own so that she could have her hand in advancing her goals to build a golem. Upon the seeming death of Kharhaz, she had compiled her knowledge of creation into a blueprint deemed "Judgment", a device whose sole design was to avenge the death of her beloved friend. For a time, the execution of his murderers was all that her mind could focus on, and her mood was apparent.
Mizrahi hailing to her as a master of golem creation, she frequently asked about his project, Sindron, a golem with sentience, emotion, as well as feeling and the ability to dream. His words were few to her, but she had come to gather the knowledge that pieces of Sindron were being used in the creation of golems which had abilities similar to the bearer in which they came. She challenged him with her design blueprints in hopes to obtain a piece of Sindron, however Mizrahi took it from her and devised his own challenge, whose conditions were unknown.
Sindron was at her command, if only for a short amount of time. Her desire to harvest a piece of it became less and less as she spoke and interacted with it. Instead of taking, she gave it her own beloved shortbow as a gift. Later, it seemed that somehow it made a connection with the golem, and she was able to be brought into its dream and visions. This interaction was seemingly the testing grounds of Mizrahi's mysterious challenge.
After studying and participating in various trials, Mizrahi accepted Sol as an apprentice. A rare occurrence within the Hands, however her dedication to learn was quite unrivaled by anything else. In what seemed like a matter of days she had absorbed all that she could fathom from her mentor, however her apprenticeship is likely unending.
Recent History:
Following the recent trials of her work, she began to notice a strange fountain of power ebbing inside her. More and more it surfaced as it began to drastically effect her manipulation of fire as well as her own flesh. Her magic was actually eating away at her very body. Covered in gruesomely deep snake-like scars, her arms are now substantially mutilated all the way down to her fingertips.
Seeking reason behind her affliction, her sources turned to her trusted mentor in hopes of his unyielding wisdom. Mizrahi's words brought to her a price, "The burden of knowledge is knowledge." What was revealed to her was something she would never forget and something that affects her even now. Her innate arcane talents were in fact sourced naturally... something looked down upon by her order. However, her training to suppress the use of arcane manipulation by will caused her own powers to stutter, as too much water rushing down a funnel, inadvertently harming herself. The result of a naturalist training in the opposite spectrum of magic---using a trained mind instead of willpower.
Appearance:
Rather small and slim for a Hin, the snowy white palor of her skin usually attracts the curious stares of passerbys. Her silvery hair is cropped at her shoulders, and an occasional glance will reveal starkly red eyes.
Her right arm is mechanized, an engineered golem contraption to replace the one she lost in combat. It is generally covered by her sleeve, however the the contraption gears and shifts making noise often. She is often clicking the fingers of her metal hand together.
Personality:
Indeterminable at best, her demeanor seems to swap spectrums spontaneously and without notice. At times she may seem distant or apathetic, while others she may be quite direct and boisterous. Generally however she is rather shy and displaced amongst people, and tends to drift towards the nearest smiling face or known friend. Her true colors shine when she is amongst people she admires. Recent training under the tutelage of Mizrahi has resulted great focus within her thoughts and emotions, even so as to make her appear highly indifferent in trying times (although she is not.)
Significant Relationships:
- Hano Fetten: Although they met under unfavorable circumstances, Sol seems to have an unyielding attraction towards Hano's demeanor. His encouragement and faith have given Sol great determination. She is rarely seen away from Hano's side, although they seem to bicker and fight commonly.
- Jorandur, Tamryn: Their relationship is uneasy at best, even as friends, however Sol can't seem to shake her interest in this woman. With Hano in presence, she almost feels as though they are a family. Her best interests, however, are to not let Tamryn know her true feelings.
- Sindron: Knowing the true secret of this creation, she treats "him" as she would any other person close to her. The time spent with Sindron developed into an everlasting bond.
- Kristal Joyjoy: One of Sol's earliest friends, she is rather fond of Kristal even if she is rather unpleasantly eccentric at times. It is rare they see each other these days.
- Mizrahi: A mentor and role-model, the one who not only taught her the ways of the arcane but untaught her misdirected mind. She has an undying respect for him, but has been known to curse his name quite frequently variably between the words "fairy" and "demon."
- Kharhaz: The brightest light in Sol's eyes would be the reflection of this man shining back within them. Ever since their first meeting his words have strengthened and supported her, and her infatuation with him is an unrivaled emotion. If she's not already speaking of him, she is definitely thinking of him.
Miscellaneous:
When left to her own device in volatile situations she tends to dress the roll of a "social" puppeteer, pulling the strings of the gullible in an attempt to create the entertainment she finds within their chaos.
Although mostly passive, she has an unusual tendency to speak rather cryptically and/or dark at times. Her demeanor changes accordingly as she again plays upon vulnerable situations for amusement.
Sometimes it may appear that she is speaking to someone, without any others at her side or present. The conversations may be wholly realistic, and few are certain of the true meaning behind her behavior.
