• Tia Vindel: Osclow's adopted daughter. Officially she is the daughter of Lilia and Parm, two of Osclow's childhood friends who died in a tragic accident 2 years ago. Tia's happiness is worth even more to Osclow than his own life.
• Esmee Vindel: The older sister of Lilia who watches Tia while Osclow is away. Frequently in her letters, she tries to convince Osclow that all Tia truly wants is his safe return. Unfortunately, Osclow is not convinced of this.
• Fenton Tellens: One of Osclow's best friends and his official partner in business. Though they have only known each other for a short time, they have almost become like brothers, agreeing to split all profits made 50-50.
