Biography
Murin grew up in the fortress city of Citadel Adbar, mightiest stronghold of the dwarves of the north.
His family has a strong crafting tradition, brewing in particular. Their reputation was established by a series of ancestors with bardic talents, whom both earnt reputation and established the family's traditional recipes and songs sung while working at their craft. In truth their brewing has often had more than a touch of the arcane about it, enough to add to both it's mystique and intrinsic properties, but not so much as to arouse suspicion.
For ill or otherwise, Murin appears to have more bardic talent than has been seen in several generations, combined with an sense for innovation increasingly considered unbecoming by his clanmates. While he fancies his skill with the kegs and mechanisms of his own design, it is the chant sung over the slowly fermenting grains that is the true source of his gift.
His subtle reworking of an old family recipe that proved to stiffen the wavering heart was well-received, and remains the only family recipe he is willing to use for profit in his self-imposed exile. However, his experimental 'Glowtongue' brew proved rather more magic potion than ale. While dwarven brewing and enchantment have been known to mix, particularly when it comes to priestly concoctions, this proved a step too far.
After the dust, and light motes, settled, the outcome of the ensuing vigorous discussions with his elders has seen Murin take to the road, like so many other dwarves seeking to make their fortune. It is to be seen if his talents are any more successful in Sundren.
