He is uncomfortable in social situations, preferring to spend his time in thought or studying his collection of manuscripts.

Early History: Copper was born in the Svirfneblin city of Blingdenstone the son of a stern father and loving mother. An unusual skin pigmentation marked his birth, his mother nameing him "Copper" as a sign of affection. His earliest years were spent studying under the tuteledge of his father Garland, a master Gemcrafter of great renown. Although Copper respected and admired his father's work, his first love had always been the Art.

His free time was spent scouring libraries and repositories accumulating as much knowledge concerning magic and it's various applications as possible. It was during his studies that he learned of Mystra and the weave, of their intricate design and balance, and their ultimate complexity. Through his studies Copper discerned a deep understanding of the Mother of Mysteries and her tenets, pledging himself to her service as a devoted follower.

The Underdark was a land of perpetual danger and continual open warfare. The city of Blingdenstone repeatedly forced to defend its borders from incursions of both Drow and Illithid forces. The natural gifts of the Svirfneblin aided the people in their cities defense, but their numbers dwindled steadily as those captured were either forced into slavery or killed in battle. It was during one of these conflicts that Copper's mother was slain by a Drow raiding party, her body brutally beaten before she succumbed to her wounds. The unexpected death of his mother greatly affected Copper's demeanor and outlook. No longer would he simply remain aloof from the events that threatened his people. Joining the city militia as an initiate he utilized his natural talents, serving as both a scout and a runner to aid in the defense of his homeland.
