Appearance:

Standing at 6’2 with deep blue eyes that dance with the ferocity and beauty of the storm, Kaizen is the embodiment of the natural power he loves. His face is playful, with unkempt stubble and wild hair adorned with feathers. When he speaks, his voice has an edge to it, and when he shouts, it is like the echo of thunder. When he bleeds, it is laced with electricity, and when he moves, it is the chaotic dance of the midsummer tempest. He is the storm incarnate: mind, body, soul.

He is usually seen adorned in the deep, vivid blue of the oceans - either his umber hulk plate or his traditional dress clothes, and these are always accompanied by his blue hood and blue cloak.

Slung across his back is the symbol and might of his power: The Trident of the Stormbringer. Steel rods intertwined together until they form a menacing spearhead, enchanted and gleaming with caustic, bright blue electricity. Some say Kaizen was granted the spear from an Avatar of Talos himself - after desecrating an Orc Temple and fighting off three Balors. Yet others say it was payment for an assassination of a Celestial by the name of Jeshana that still lives today- whatever the case, the only truth that matters is that Kaizen wields the Trident with deadly efficiency and devastating effect.

Previous

Kaizen was born of noble descent in the land of Thay with a name he cast aside and has long forgotten- though he has never told a soul and never will. From an early age, he showed a great aptitude for the magical arts, and was clearly gifted. Although he climbed through the ranks of the elementary schools easily, Kaizen found himself pulled to a different calling. While his fellow students were casting cantips of the arcane nature, he would sneak away and talk to the trees and the earth. He could not keep this secret long, however, and when his parents found out they were horrified and disgusted. Disappointed at the man Kaizen was becoming, they sent him to the faraway land of Sundren to school at the Thayan Enclave there - to repulsed at his nauseating nature to keep Kaizen around, and hopeful that time away from Thay would bring him to his senses.

This attempt proved to be futile, as the ship that carried Kaizen and his fellow Thayans was sunk by a massive storm. Kaizen, the only survivor, was brought to the shores of Sundren battered, broken, and coughing up sea water; but still alive.

Kissing the ground, and crying, Kaizen thanked Chauntea for saving his life and answering his calls.

Ascension

It became blatantly obvious to Kaizen soon after he landed in this new land that Chauntea had not called to him. Trees were slow to respond, fellow druids would avoid him like a virulent plague, and the animals themselves would cower at his presence. Wild winds would whip behind him wherever he walked, and the storm seemed to follow him relentlessly. He found it suprisingly easy to call down the raw power of lightning on those that threatened his life, and he found himself captivated by the deep bass of thunder.

When he finally accepted that he felt a calling to the Lord of Storms, Talos, he was terrified at his own nature. He was disgusted at what he was to become. Kaizen fought it with all his might, with all his willpower. But it was not enough, the storm followed, and he loved it.

His fate would be sealed when traveling in the Sharahan Hills with an elven companion. A storm which the likes of Sundren had not seen in ages swept in from the coast and covered the lands. Kaizen tried to fight the primal urge within, but lost. He was captivated by the beauty of the storm, and he found himself in a euphoric trance of chaos and destruction.

Not a single soul was spared in those Hills that day, and Kaizen, ragged and broken and wasted and exhausted, lay at the epicenter of all the destruction. At the climax of the storm that swirled around him, Kaizen was struck by lightning. Once, twice, three times. Mind, body, soul. Kaizen was Stormlord now. Kaizen had become the Son of Storms.

Outward Personality

Kaizen is as random and chaotic in nature as the storm itself. He believes that there is no order to anything, even his own actions. With this as a guiding principle, he tends to follow whatever whim strikes him at the moment. He believes in death and rebirth. That for anything to be anything, it must be torn apart and rebuilt. As a Druid of Talos, he seeks to destroy things so that they may better flourish the second time around. So he can destroy it again in an endless cycle of growth and renewal.

Kaizen is an extremely difficult person to deal with. He has been known to cheerfully and for no apparent purpose gamble everything he has on the roll of a single die. He is almost totally unreliable. In fact, the only reliable thing about him is that he cannot be relied upon.

Some mistake Kaizen's chaotic nature as evil. This is far from it, in fact, Kaizen does not represent Talos' evil side in the least. Only his delight in the chaotic nature of the Storm. He will not purposely go out of his way to do an evil act - but on the other hand he will not go out of his way to prevent an evil act while carrying out his chaotic desires.

Inward Personality

To some, it is apparently obvious that Kaizen is at war with himself. His random temperment has and is taking it's toll on his mental status. He finds himself confused as the man he should have been, the man he is, and the man he had wanted to be. Good at heart, he finds himself at odds with his undying love for the Storm and his faith in the beautiful side of Talos - and the things which he knows are right.

Significant Relationships

Ahriman Incarus: Kaizen's closest friend and an elite Magi of the Hands of Mundus, this relationship is an odd one. Complete polar opposites, but the two manage because of their shared sense of awkward humor. They have saved each other's lives more than once in the face of danger, and will continue to do so.

Vader Kataklysym: A fellow druid of Talos, Vader was Kaizen's first Stormbrother, and mentor. They have a close kinship, desptie their startling personality differences. Where Kaizen is wild and chaotic, Vader is calm and collected. Where Kaizen is the untamed edges of the hurricane, Vader is the Eye.

Will Stormheart: The most recent Stormlord to wash upon Sundren's shores, Will Stormheart is a Favored Soul of Talos - called not by the natural beauty of the storm, but by the terrifying and awesome power of it. Where Kaizen embodies the chaos of the storm, Will embodies the evil and fear driven side. Where Kaizen seeks to be one with the storm, Will uses it as a tool of terror to become feared across the lands of Sundren. They are close in their bond, and Kaizen strives to show Stormheart the true side of the tempest.

Plutarch Fullgrin: Kaizen's Icebrother. Kaizen loves this fearsome hin for his absolute primal nature, and his hysterical sense of humor. Although Plutarch does not approve of Kaizen's societal tendencies, they have formed a close bond. They can often be seen as tiny kittens, destroying those that would dare make the mistake of angering the Furies - a mistake not made twice.

Aerick Talden: The only 'friend' Kaizen truly has that is not of the Nature's warriors. Their unstable friendship has devolved into withering glances and disappointed glares when Kaizen admitted to the Favored Soul of Oghma that he had tortured a Banite out of rage in the catacombs of the Temple of Umberlee.

Arcanist Neffriel Brom: Suffice to say, Kaizen loves screwing around with this Red Wizard - at the hazard of his own safety and health.

Clive Tarsus: This man represents everything Kaizen loathes: Order, control, vampires and awful beards. They have crossed paths violently many, many times - and will continue to do so until one or the other is dead.
